Westport Adoption Session
I don't even know how to start this post. I met Hardy and Nadia just over three and a half years ago and right away loved them. They are one of the most generous, fun loving couples I have ever met and have blessed me in many ways through their friendship. When I found out that they weren't able to have children, it became a cry of my heart for them as well, that they would one day get to have children of their own. When they approached me a couple years ago to do an pre-adoption session I was so intrigued. We set out with a dump truck, a doll and two pairs of rubber boots, one for a little girl and one for a little boy. We captured the images with the hope and belief that one day the Lord would bless them with someone small enough to fit into one of the pairs of boots. Now it's 2015 and I had the extreme privilege to capture their entire FAMILY for their first shoot to celebrate their beautiful daughter's official adoption. That's right, they have adopted a precious little girl. The story is too amazing to even get into I would need three more blog posts, but I will tell you that there beautiful daughter Emma looks just like the two of them, is bilingual like them and is a direct answer to prayer. This year on Nadia's birthday the adoption was finalized and Emma was officially a permanent member of their family. Keeping my camera from fogging through tears of joy as I captured the joy and laughter in this family was very hard. The best part was photographing Emma in the same pair of boots years before I photographed empty. God is good, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take." Proverbs 3:5-6
