You are probably wondering why the name 'Alabaster Jar Photography'? Well hit 'play', grab a cup of tea and i'll tell you! In 2011 I was asked to photograph a friend's wedding and up until that point I had only experience in video and equine photography. Hesitantly, I said 'yes', and captured my first wedding. While I was praying for a name for the company, one of my favourite Bible stories came to mind of the woman with the Alabaster Jar. In this story, a woman who had lived a very immoral life came to a house where Jesus was, knelt before him and poured out her Alabaster Jar of perfume onto his feet. The contents of that jar were worth a lot of money at that time and could have even been her dowry, but she offered everything she had to her King. There are many reasons I love this scripture, and when I began to think about that woman, I realized that's who I wanted to be for my clients, and that the name Alabaster Jar Photography was a perfect fit.
My desire since day 1 of starting Alabaster Jar Photography is that when you hire us you would feel loved and special. I know that sounds a bit cheesy, but we aren't a factory, we love each of our clients, pray for them, invest our time and heart into them and ultimately have a desire to serve them with a heart of humility. That's why on your wedding day you can count on us helping you set up if you're running behind, helping you put in hair extensions or just grabbing you by the hand to remind you to take a deep breath.
So that is why the name 'Alabaster Jar Photography'.
